Connected apps

Use FitFoodie in Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini

Connect your FitFoodie account to the AI assistant you already use, then log what you ate, add water or a weigh-in, and ask how today is going, without opening the app.

Log two scrambled eggs and a slice of toast for breakfast

FitFoodie added it to your diary

Done, it's in your breakfast:

Scrambled eggs on toast390kcal
  • Protein 19 g
  • Carbs 28 g
  • Fat 22 g

How much protein do I have left today?

FitFoodie read today's totals

You've had 82 g of your 120 g protein goal, so 38 g to go.

82 of 120 g protein
An example conversation. Numbers are AI estimates and your goals come from your FitFoodie profile.

FitFoodie connects to AI assistants through MCP, the open standard assistants use to work with other apps. Once you connect it, you can say "log a chicken Caesar salad for lunch", "how did my calories look this week?" or "add 500 ml of water", and the assistant reads and updates your FitFoodie diary for you. Everything it logs appears in the app straight away, next to your photo and barcode entries.

What you can ask for

  • Log a meal by describing it (Premium). FitFoodie estimates calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugars, sodium and saturated fat, the same way describing a meal in the app works, and files it under the meal you name.
  • Check today: totals, what's left against your calorie and macro goals, water so far, and each meal.
  • Review recent days: calories, macros and water per day for up to 30 days, with averages.
  • Log water or a weigh-in, in kilograms or pounds.
  • Log a past meal again, or delete an entry you logged by mistake.

You can phrase things however you like. For how this fits with photo and barcode logging, see our guide to food photo nutrition tracking.

Before you start

You need a FitFoodie account, so sign up in the app first. Every assistant asks for the same server address:

https://fitfoodie.cressu.com/mcp/v1

When you connect, a FitFoodie page opens. Sign in with the same Google or Apple account you use in the app, check what the assistant will be able to do, and click Allow.

Only connect it yourself

The FitFoodie sign-in page only appears after you start connecting in your assistant. If someone sends you a link to it, don't approve it.

Grok supports custom connectors too, and we're finishing FitFoodie's sign-in for it. We'll add the steps here as soon as it works.

Privacy and control

FitFoodie shares only what each request needs and never sells your data. Reconnecting Claude or ChatGPT replaces your old link to it instead of adding a second one. Nutrition values for described meals are AI estimates and aren't medical advice. Read the privacy policy for the details.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Checking your diary, logging water and weigh-ins, logging a past meal again and deleting an entry are free. Logging a new meal from a description uses AI nutrition analysis, which needs FitFoodie Premium, the same as in the app. Each assistant decides which of its own plans can add custom connectors.

What can the assistant see?

Only what you ask about: your meals, nutrition totals, daily goals, water and weight for the days in question. It can't see your meal photos, and FitFoodie never sells your data. Once the assistant receives data, its provider's privacy policy also applies.

Will I see charts or just text?

Claude and ChatGPT show FitFoodie cards in the chat: today's calorie ring and macro bars, a calories-per-day chart, the meal you just logged, or your water for the day. Assistants that don't show cards answer in text with the same numbers.

How do I disconnect?

Remove FitFoodie in your assistant's connector or app settings. In a FitFoodie app update after version 1.3.9 you can also see and disconnect every linked assistant in Settings → Connected apps, which cuts off access straight away. Deleting your FitFoodie account disconnects every linked assistant.
